After cleaning out all of the foam and treating the metal under the brace, we stripped off all of the undercoating. Then we made a steel "filler" brace to close out the gap between the original brace and the floor pan. The gold colored spray is copper weld thru primer that we used under the new brace.

They tried to "hide" the foam by spray painting it black and shooting undercoating over it.
